We shot Ron & Mirtha’s black tie session on the beautiful grounds of Temple Square in Salt Lake City. Mirtha is a beautiful bride! I can’t wait to see her and Ron on their wedding day.
I have been sitting on this session for about a month. They can finally be shared because it is Kirsten and Casey’s wedding day and, by the time they see this post what the dress looks like will be out of the bag.
Kirsten was a joy to work with. She didn’t miss a beat even when trying to stay one step ahead of the rain and keep warm.
It was chilly but the sun was shining and I knew it was going to be a good day. I headed to Provo to attend a workshop taught by Marvell Smith of Vellvet Images. After going over some of the basics of posing brides we were let loose with gorgeous dresses and beautiful girls.
I have always loved bridal photography. The wedding day is great but the bridal session is all about the bride and making her feel like the princess she is. There is a confidence that comes out when a girl puts on her wedding dress with all the accessories and can see herself as a bride, sometimes for the first time. I love being apart of that transformation.
One of my goals for 2012 was to be published. Today Marc and Shelbe’s black tie session has been featured on Vie d’Amour wedding blog. Today my goal of being published has been checked off on my yearly to do list.
Marc and Shelbe’s black tie was one of my favorites from 2011 and I am so excited it was chosen to be featured. Going through their images again reminded me of what a sweet couple they are. They were a pleasure to work with and just plain fun to be around.
Alyssa and Phil’s wedding was a last and a first…last wedding of 2011, the first wedding shot at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.
It was a beautiful day the sun was shining, the skies were blue, the only thing that wasn’t perfect was the 25 degree reading on the thermometer. It was cold!
Alyssa and Phil were great to shoot with and made the day so much warmer with their love and smiles. What a great way to end the year!
