Planning a wedding can be stressful and crazy at times but don’t forget to slow down and remember why you are getting married in the first place. Look for the good in each other, welcome opportunities for growth, and look for the beauty that is all around us. It’s okay to stop and smell the roses.

I found this sweet survival kit for grooms on Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings blog. What a great idea for a little something to give the groom before the wedding. Let’s be honest..his socks are probably not the first thing on his mind.
One of my goals for 2012 was to be published. Today Marc and Shelbe’s black tie session has been featured on Vie d’Amour wedding blog. Today my goal of being published has been checked off on my yearly to do list.
Marc and Shelbe’s black tie was one of my favorites from 2011 and I am so excited it was chosen to be featured. Going through their images again reminded me of what a sweet couple they are. They were a pleasure to work with and just plain fun to be around.
I don’t love the humidity. Yes a little is good for my dry skin but when I feel like I could cut the air it’s a little much. I feel the need to jump in a pool, beach, or take cover in air conditioning. I currently have access to two of these options. That is going to change in about 2 weeks. I can’t wait to sit on a beach, read a fluff novel, and enjoy time with my family.
I can’t wait to be here…
I have always loved fireworks and thought that they loved me back until I was 6(ish) years old and my cousins bought bottle rockets for the 4th of July. They were illegal. I just thought they were pretty. It wasn’t either of our faults really, the bottle fell over and to avoid sending a bottle rocket onto someone’s porch my cousin kicked it (the bottle). I was the new target and while the details are now fuzzy I do remember I was hit with something in the thumb. This was the first time I realized that fireworks weren’t all pretty.
Fireworks and I made up when I was 9. My family traveled to Lake Tahoe, California. We stayed at the Embassy Suites and had all the ice cream we could eat. My brother, sisters, and I also made up games involving the elevators. I’m sure the hotel staff was happy to see us leave. On Independence Day we trucked a mile to the beach, set up camp, and settled into what would be a long day. I was pooped on by a bird…eeeewwww! The sun went down and it was finally time to see the show. Luckily we were right next to a life guard stand and could hear the soundtrack to the fireworks on the boom box. It was an amazing fireworks display. One of the best I have seen. I again loved fireworks.
This year to celebrate our nations birth I headed to Sugarhouse park with some friends to see their fireworks. While it didn’t compare with the Lake Tahoe show it was fun to be with friends and have a camera handy.
